Reflection:

            We are a district of innovation, committed to the success of Every Child. With an increased number of students achieving a technical certificate, military training, or a two year or four year degree (T2-4) that will increase from 44% to 72 % by 2022.   With this transformation goal; our school has a lot of opportunities to grow and prepare students for their future.

​

        Normal school hours are not enough to close the gap; our students need technology enrichment programs that prepare them for the competitive requirements of the world.  Providing students from disadvantaged communities with technological opportunities; inspiring and motivating them to develop creativity, high critical thinking and strategies to help their own community.

​

         In order to be more effective, the technology enrichment programs need to be flexible with Free Libre Open Sources (FLOS) to engage students in an authentic learning environment. Where they can create their own agenda and focus on their own growth mindset. The integration of staff, families, and members of the community is a powerful strategy to maintain the fire of perseverance of the members.

​

        Offering digital tools to the students and coaching them to learn coding; to design prototype apps to help their own community; to learn robotics, and to empower their curiosity is the best way to secure the future of the country.
