MORENO DIGITAL COMPETENCE WHEEL.png

Reflection:

When I started to answer the survey questions. I realized, that I was not “tech savvy”. My knowledge about technology was limited.  While, I working on the survey, I was hoping to find a competence where I was strong.   However, I completed the 16 digital competences and I noticed that I did not master any of them.

I know understand the frustration of many of my colleagues when they get a new computer, or new programs to apply on a daily basis, without a proper training.  The same phenomenon is observed in many of my students (from disadvantaged families) they lack technology at home and at school.  This survey helped me to reflect about the importance of classroom cooperation and the implementation of technology more frequently.

From the digital competences in the survey I concluded that I have to work hard to improve my skills as a “digital student” (50%) Especially on the information and production competences, with a lot of room to grow in search, configuration, and storage competences.  In order to achieve this l, I have to step out of my comfort zone; and not be afraid to challenge myself. I will reach out to the people in charge of technology in my school and district.

My highest percentages were safety and communication. With 61% in law, 60% in identity management, 58 % in health, and 56% in media choice. This will positively impact my students and members of community that would like to participate in the club. Because they will increase their digital literacy, required when using digital media to perform tasks, solve problems, and communicate on real life situations.
